Colorgels are the modern nail polishes that cure on the basis of UV light. UV colorgels have been on the market since about 2005. The technique stems from the well-known techniques with UV polymer gels used to build nails in nail styling and orthesiology, among other things. In recent years there has been competition between different suppliers based on exclusivity, quality, service and of course price. We receive samples very regularly for testing and a few of our colleagues at IMGRO have really developed a method of testing these samples somewhat systematically and comparing them.We see great differences in curing, color fastness, durability of the color coat applied but also in the degree of degradation of the natural nails. In general we can say that"too cheap" colorants not only chip off earlier but also leave the natural nail more damaged. You can see this after wiping off the color gel.
It is important to discuss the quality of the packaging here. We have run several "cheaper" brands out of our range in recent years due to the fact that the colorgels appeared to harden prematurely in the bottle. We can actually only register that if those colorgels have been in our store or warehouse for a while or after sales. At all times we want to prevent you from buying this kind of "bad" product from us, or at all....... Some suppliers then exchange stock but usually we then let the product run out as a clearance sale or stop selling acutely.
A color gel is intended to adorn the nail for a few days to about 2 weeks. In our experience, a good color gel, properly applied, does little damage to the natural nail and is beautiful on the nail plate for a long time.
Based on our experience, we stock several gel polish brands. However, the system of application is always the same.
- Step 1: You always start with a normal manicure treatment. However, you do NOT end with an oil or hand cream.
- Step 2: Primer
- Step 3: Basecoat
- Step 4: Colorcoat
- Step 5:Top Coat
- Step 6:Paste coat removal.
- Step 7: Now you can apply cuticle oil to the after straps and cream the hands or use a lovely lotion
All brands of gel polsh can be done under both LED and UV. With LED the curing time is shorter. You can find this in the step-by-step plans. The step-by-step plans are listed with the brands and products
Note: For removing the final layer of adhesive you can also use IPA / Isopropyl alcohol. We found on all labels of the various removers the liquid "IPA" as the main ingredient.
